Former Iranian Official Blames US for President's Death

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and seven others, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, were killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday. While it appears the aircraft went down due to heavy fog and "blizzard conditions" in the Iranian mountains, at least one former Iranian official is blaming the US.

According to former foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, the crash is America's fault because it placed sanctions on Iran decades ago that prevent the Middle Eastern country from buying newer aircraft.

So, Raisi was forced to fly in a Bell 212 chopper made sometime between 1968 and 1998.
