Eric Adams Gets Involved in Weiner Dispute

Joey Chestnut, the eight-time champion of Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, will not be participating this year due to his endorsement of a competitor, Impossible Foods, which offers a vegan hot dog option. This has sparked debate over the legitimacy of this year's contest.

Mayor Eric Adams expressed his strong desire to have Joey Chestnut compete in this year's Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest. "Stop being such weenies!" He added some humor: "It would be 'impossible' to have this year's Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest without Joey Chestnut. Let's find a way to squash this beef and bring back the champ for another 4th of July at Coney Island!"

There was controversy when Major League Eating (MLE) and Nathan's decided to exclude Chestnut from the 2024 Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest because he is affiliated with Impossible Foods. MLE expressed disappointment.
