Fireworks are fun and festive, but they can also be dangerous. It’s why the National Security Council recommends leaving the fireworks in the hands of professionals.

If fireworks can be legally purchased (and set off) near you, be sure you follow the instructions. Don’t set them off inside of containers, while intoxicated, or indoors. Additionally, if the fuse doesn’t light, don’t try it again. Set it aside and move onto a different fireworks option.

It’s a good idea to keep a bucket of water nearby, too, in case you need to diffuse a sparkler or any other fireworks that you have.

Ultimately, celebrate the 4th responsibly.
