EU Bureaucrats Target Free Speech Champion Elon Musk's X Platform

In yet another example of overreach, EU regulators have launched a crusade against innovative entrepreneur Elon Musk's X platform, claiming that the coveted "blue ticks" are misleading and lack transparency. This marks the first major probe into a big-tech firm since the implementation of the draconian Digital Service Act (DSA).

According to Brussels' latest salvo, these prestigious symbols – once exclusive to verified influencers and dignitaries before Musk democratized them via his subscription-based model – allegedly dupe users regarding account legitimacy. As stated by Eurocrats:

"Since anyone can subscribe to obtain such a verified' status', it negatively affects users' ability to make free and informed decisions about the authenticity of the accounts and the content they interact with."

Musk fired back, accusing the EU of proposing a clandestine pact to stifle freedom of expression in exchange for leniency.
