Election officials nationwide are expressing worries about the U.S. postal service's capacity to handle the surge in mail-in ballots for the upcoming general election. One proposed solution is to increase the number of ballot drop boxes. Concerns include potential delays and ballots being returned as undeliverable. 

U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has denied these concerns. 

Despite assurances from the postal service, there have been reports of mail delivery delays. Both Democrats and Republicans are urging their supporters to vote early, either in person or by mail, to ensure their votes are counted. There are also plans to expand the number of ballot drop-off boxes across the country.
